This is the third video in our technical series on Hammerspace Tier 0. After covering configuration and data flow, this video focuses on one key question: How does it perform? Join us as we run a series of performance tests using the industry-standard tool FIO (Flexible I/O Tester). We test a variety of real-world workloads, including:
- Large block sequential I/O -Small block random I/O
- In-memory (cached) and larger-than-RAM (uncached) data sets
- Scaling from 2, to 4, to 8 compute nodes
The results are clear: Hammerspace Tier 0 delivers linear performance scaling. As we add more compute nodes, the aggregate bandwidth and IOPS increase predictably. Watch as we hit over a million read IOPS on an 8-node cluster and demonstrate how Tier 0 can deliver read performance at twice the speed of the network by leveraging local NVMe.
