Hammerspace is proud to announce that we were selected as a Gartner Cool Vendor in the May 2021 Gartner Cool Vendors for Storage and Hybrid Infrastructure report. The report identifies a number of companies including Hammerspace that are at the forefront of new solutions for multicloud storage aggregation, data portability, collaboration, data protection, microservices, and cost reduction.
According to Gartner, “The expansive growth of unstructured data and the growing use of cloud-native storage creates challenges for I&O leaders — adopting modernized workloads while also managing unstructured data growth and legacy technology.”

The explosive growth of unstructured data has both contributed to, and suffered from, islands of storage. This has, in turn, led to more and more storage silos, sprawl of disparate systems and technologies, barriers to collaboration, and duplication of effort. The entropy this has created is at risk of becoming an unmanageable chaos with out-of-control costs. It demands more comprehensive and sustainable solutions.
Gartner research finds that “Multicloud storage aggregation is the next step in offering a single storage pool that solves some of these challenges, as these solutions deliver greater storage efficiency by delivering a truly scalable global file system across multicloud and on-premises solutions.”
Hammerspace’s solution addresses the issues articulated by Gartner with hybrid cloud storage software for multi-site and multi-cloud. Hammerspace delivers:
Hybrid Multicloud –All data from data centers and public clouds is stored and managed in a single Global File System and delivered with multi-protocol access.
Data Orchestration – Free data from the shackles of legacy storage islands by instantly orchestrating data on-demand for all applications and end-users.
Data Portability – Deliver data from anywhere in the organization to every application, no matter where it runs.
Storageless Data – Untether data from infrastructure to seamlessly present and orchestrate unstructured data across heterogeneous legacy storage vendor islands.
Declarative Data Management – From file-granular to beyond cloud-size, simplify policy controls of antivirus, file versioning, data placement and tiering, lifecycle and workflow management, snapshots, WORM and undelete.
Freedom of Choice – Deploy Hammerspace to leverage any underlying file infrastructure on bare-metal, hypervisors, public cloud marketplaces, or in any combination thereof.

About Hammerspace
Hammerspace is storageless data for hybrid IT environments. By untethering data from the infrastructure, Hammerspace overcomes data gravity to efficiently provide hybrid cloud NAS as a fully automated, consumption-based resource. Customers are able to self-service their data management to simplify workload portability from the cloud to the edge.
