Mathematic Studio Chooses the Hammerspace Global Data Environment.

Mathematic Studio Chooses Hammerspace Global Data Environment to Create a Global Namespace Across Studios in Three Different Countries, Fueling Global Business Expansion

Mathematic Studio has deployed Hammerspace to enable global collaboration between its creative artists across multiple studios. Based in Paris, Mathematic is a creative VFX, animation, and motion design studio with more than 250 artists worldwide. The studio’s work spans commercial, music video, feature films and series, video game trailers, and entertainment creative content production.

Hammerspace’s Global Data Environment enables Mathematic’s artists to actively collaborate on content without the need to create copies and later merge updates into a single data set.  Artists can leverage all of their workstation design tools for 3D compositing and modeling, visual effects, editorial finishing and archiving no matter where the artists or content is located. Previously the studio was having to manually copy assets from one location to another, resulting in disparate versioning and slow workflows. With Hammerspace, artists are able to collaborate and see changes in real-time across all locations.  Hammerspace also provides Mathematic with a coordinated and consolidated archive solution.

Mathematic learned of Hammerspace through TrackIt, an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner specializing in cloud management, consulting, and software development solutions with specialized expertise in media and entertainment workflows, high-performance computing environments, and data storage. Since Mathematic was looking to effectively manage file sharing across all of its facilities in multiple regions, TrackIt recommended Hammerspace as the ideal solution for the studio’s workflow.

With Hammerspace, Mathematic is able to make all data and applications available to its team of artists from any location with a global namespace. The studio’s team can access and use their preferred applications and tools seamlessly wherever they are based, allowing Mathematic to better leverage local talent in French, Canadian and U.S. markets and remain laser-focused on its mission of VFX production versus VFX execution.
