Hammerspace co-founder and Vice President of Customer Support John Cagle has more than 30 years of experience creating enterprise-class data storage systems. In addition to making sure our customers are provided with the best possible support, John is also responsible for the highly available and distributed Linux OS platform that Hammerspace is based upon.
Before Hammerspace, John was Senior Director of Systems Design at Fusion-io, where he developed the ION Data Accelerator, the world’s first All-Flash SAN-attached storage solution using Linux on industry-standard servers. Earlier, as a Distinguished Technologist for Hewlett-Packard, he was a key contributor to BladeSystem, ProLiant and Virtual Connect hardware and software products, as well as a founding member of Compaq’s Linux Development team and open-source evangelist for both Linux and FreeBSD. He also contributed to IEEE’s 802.3z standard for Gigabit Ethernet.
John is a Jones Scholar with an MBA from Rice University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Houston. He also has been granted 8 patents across both software and hardware technologies.
