The University of North Texas System has selected Hammerspace running with Pure Storage Flashblade to modernize their file storage environment.  

The UNT System has the vision to become globally known for collaborative and imaginative educational innovation and scholarly activity that transforms our students and benefits the world around us. When the UNT System’s ever-growing general file and overall data storage needs outgrew the capacity of the existing Isilon NAS storage, they chose to migrate to Flashblade. The System didn’t have the resources for a long migration and couldn’t afford any downtime. They selected Hammerspace to provide the data interface layer, which enabled no downtime, and fast data-in-place assimilation to make the migration to new technology simple. In the future, the UNT System also plans to leverage the Hammerspace software to help provide seamless data access across its data centers and cloud providers.
