Hammerspace Newsletter May 2023

Welcome to the May 2023 edition of the Hammerspace Newsletter!

This month we’re focused on automated, unstructured data orchestration – at any scale without user interruption. Organizations from more than  a dozen industries trust Hammerspace to unify global file access and automate unstructured data orchestration across storage from any vendor at the edge, in data centers, and the cloud.

  • Find out how we’re enabling studios to begin immediately realizing some of the advantages outlined in the 2030 Vision, even within their existing infrastructures today. Plus, read why Hammerspace was selected as DCIG’s Best of Show at The NAB Show 2023!
  • Learn how the Hammerspace Data Orchestration software enables U.S. government and civilian  agencies to implement a vendor-neutral data strategy and architecture for decentralized data.
  • Discover how genetics research is helping to diagnose early signs of cancer, what the health industry needs to do to progress to the next step in recognizing diseases early on, and how data plays an important role in solving these international issues.

Read more about our approach to data orchestration for unstructured data and the problems that Hammerspace solves with our latest white paper, “Simplifying Data Automation,” and this five-minute video

Government decision-making is reliant upon the immediate access to many types of data, created in multiple locations, making it one of the biggest producers and consumers of data.

The problem is U.S. government and civilian agencies are quickly outgrowing legacy data center storage architectures, as data continues to grow and the available services and infrastructure now span from edge, to on-premises data center, to cloud. These legacy systems are typically fragmented into vendor silos and make both management of and access to critical information challenging.

The Hammerspace Data Orchestration software enables agencies to implement a vendor-neutral data strategy and architecture for decentralized data, which is essential for them to better leverage digital assets and strategically execute data management improvements. By overcoming the operational friction caused by such silos,  public-sector organizations can now get better utilization of their digital resources , reduce costs, and at the same time streamline their ability to make more timely and relevant decisions with their data. In an increasingly data-driven world, this directly translates into the ability to craft better policies, and offer better services.

“The ability to free data from vendor-specific storage ‘prisons’ and enable enhanced workflows that can seamlessly span various on-prem storage vendors, multiple clouds, and agencies dramatically changes the storage paradigm within the public sector,” said Robert Renzoni, Hammerspace Federal, Director of Technical Sales, Hammerspace Federal.  “Hammerspace brings unique capabilities to the federal community during this pivotal time when so many agencies are working to modernize data workflows and management.”

Big News!

At NAB, we demonstrated how studios can transform workflows, even on existing systems, with the Hammerspace data orchestration system to better achieve the MovieLabs 2030 Vision of empowering creators to tell more amazing stories while streamlining production workflows to deliver at speeds and efficiency not available today.

Further, Hammerspace was qualified as a data orchestration solution and global file system to create cloud-based finishing workflows for distributed users with the Autodesk Flame family of products. “Creative professionals now can benefit from using the power of the cloud across multiple instances without the added complexity of manual content movement or managing multiple copies of the content,” said Molly Presley, SVP of Marketing at Hammerspace.

In awards news, we were thrilled to announce a win in the “Store” category for the prestigious 2023 IABM BaM award, recognized as the gold standard for broadcast and media innovation.  Additionally, CRN named Hammerspace to its annual Storage 100 list in the Data Protection/ Management/ Resilience category.

Hammerspace’s momentum continues with some great editorial coverage in many of the leading storage and technology publications:

Download the new report, “Modernize Your File Storage and Data Services for the Hybrid Cloud Future” from Julia Palmer, VP of Research at Gartner.

“I&O leaders struggle with growing demands of unstructured data and want to revamp their existing storage, leverage hybrid cloud integration and migrate data to the public cloud…Gartner saw more evidence of new products not just adding tiering or backup to the public cloud, but also enabling new use cases to leverage public cloud for data rendering and analytics and enabling application data orchestration between on-premises, edge and public cloud locations.”
