Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer at Hammerspace, you will play a crucial role in creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation for our innovative data-centric storage platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and customer success to understand and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to our user base. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, possesses exceptional writing skills, and has the ability to transform technical information into accessible and user-friendly documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and maintain technical documentation for Hammerspace products, including user guides, installation guides, API documentation, release notes, and tutorials.
  2. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  3. Translate technical concepts and specifications into easy-to-understand documentation for various audiences, including system administrators and end-users.
  4. Keep documentation up-to-date with product changes, new features, and enhancements through regular review and revision cycles. Be able to react quickly to changes and participate in a very agile development process.
  5. Work closely with the QA team to validate documentation against product functionality and provide feedback for improvements.
  6. Contribute to the development of in-product help content and tooltips to enhance user experience.
  7. Act as a subject matter expert for documentation-related inquiries and provide support as needed.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably in the storage industry.
  3. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  4. Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and user-focused documentation.
  5. Ability to grasp complex technical concepts quickly and explain them in simple terms.
  6. Experience with tools such as Markdown, Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  8. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  9. Experience with version control systems and content management systems is a plus
