William “Deal” Daly – Field CTO

Deal Daly has business and technical experience spanning 30 years; transforming and building high performing technology and operations teams in manufacturing, web-scale subscription, genomics and B2B businesses. Most recently, Deal has held startup roles of EVP and Chief Digital Officer as well as Chief Strategy Officer.

Prior roles include Ancestry.com and AncestryDNA, where he held the concurrent positions of Vice President of IT and Chief Information Security Officer. In these roles he was responsible for both corporate and web-scale IT, Data Governance, and information security and compliance. This includes both on-premise and multiple cloud operations.

Before Ancestry.com, Deal managed data centers and IT for Intuit (TurboTax, Quicken, Quickbooks), and also managed M&A technology and business integrations for LexisNexis.

Preceding his career in technology, Deal held the position of VP Operations for Bertelsmann AG, where he managed operations for compact disk manufacturing and book and music club operations.

Joe Barnes – Director, Global Channel Sales

Joe is an experienced channel sales leader with a reputation for developing very productive relationships with partners. Prior to joining Hammerspace, Joe worked for Cohesity, where he was hired at their initial product launch to develop their channel strategy and program. He led the global channel sales team to build one of the most productive channel programs created in the last decade and was named on the CRN Channel Chief list in 2016 and 2017. While at Cohesity, he also created and launched their Cloud and Managed Service Provider Program, and built and led their Global Field Alliance sales team. Prior to Cohesity, Joe led the Channel Sales team for EMC’s West Division. He has also worked for NetApp, Intuition Channel Associates (now Quadmark), and Network Associates.

Brendan Wolfe – VP Product Marketing

Hammerspace co-founder and VP of Product Marketing Brendan Wolfe has a 20-year history of product marketing and product management in enterprise IT from servers to storage. Working with companies like AMD, NVIDIA, Fusion-io, SanDisk, and NetApp Brendan has a proven track record at innovative productizing of technologies, successfully bringing them to market.

After spending several years leading open-source product marketing for NetApp, Brendan joined CEO David Flynn to bring Hammerspace to life. Today, Brendan leads the Hammerspace product marketing team.

Trip Hunter – SVP, Marketing

In his role as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Trip leads the development and deployment of corporate marketing programs for Hammerspace. He is also the Chairman of Silicon Valley Comic con, which was founded by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Prior to joining Hammerspace, Trip was responsible for Corporate Marketing at Fusion-io. Trip’s earlier career was spent at New York City based marketing agency Renegade as well as McCann Erickson, where he led the creation and execution of campaigns for IBM, Avaya, HSBC, Panasonic, The Perrier Group, AT&T and Black & Decker.

Douglas Fallstrom – VP Products & Operations

Douglas Fallstrom, co-founder and SVP of Products & Operations is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in enterprise storage and data management.  He is responsible for the productization of Hammerspace and general operations of the business.  Douglas spends a great deal of time with our customers and partners engaging and educating them on our products, use cases and value proposition.  Additionally, he also works collaboratively with our engineering team on details large and small to ensure a world-class solution.

Mark Glasgow – VP Worldwide Sales

Mark Glasgow adds strong leadership and experience to the Hammerspace sales team. Most of his 20 years in sales management has focused on helping customers deploy business-critical enterprise storage systems, from mid-market businesses on up to the largest hyperscale customers on the planet. Mark has successfully lead sales teams of all sizes, holding senior roles in organizations ranging from tiny venture-funded technology startups to substantial multinational corporations such as IBM, Dell, and Micron.

Trond Myklebust – Chief Technology Officer

Trond Myklebust, co-founder and CTO, brings more than 20 years of experience with networked storage and Linux kernel development.  As the maintainer and lead developer for the Linux kernel NFS client, Trond has nurtured the community to architect and develop several generations of networked filesystems.  Before joining Hammerspace, Trond worked at NetApp and the University of Oslo. Trond also holds an MSc in quantum field theory and fundamental fields from Imperial College, London and worked in high-energy physics at the University of Oslo and CERN. 

Tony Asaro – SVP, Business and Corporate Development

Tony Asaro has been a consultant and advisor for dozens of storage, data management and software vendors providing strategy, product recommendations and business development.  He has played a major role in a number of major industry partnerships and acquisitions.  At Hammerspace, Tony is responsible for developing business relationships with third-party vendors and partners that wish to leverage our valuable capabilities, world-class software and unique technologies.

David Flynn – Chief Executive Officer

Hammerspace co-founder and Chief Executive Officer David Flynn is a recognized leader in IT innovation who has been architecting disruptive computing platforms since his early work in supercomputing and Linux systems.

David pioneered the use of flash for enterprise application acceleration as founder and former CEO of Fusion-io, which was acquired by SanDisk in 2014. He served as Fusion-io President and CEO until May 2013 and board member until July 2013. As Fusion-io CEO, David was responsible for the company’s strategic direction, oversaw all operations and was the visionary behind the company’s innovative technology and market strategy. Preceding his position as CEO, David was Fusion-io technical found and CTO, where he created the company’s foundational research and development efforts, as well as the development of short- and long-term technological roadmaps.

Previously, David served as Chief-Architect at Linux Networx where he was instrumental in the creation of the OpenFabrics stack and designed several of the world’s largest supercomputers leveraging Linux clustering, InfiniBand, RDMA-based technologies. Also, David served as Project BlackDog’s Chief Scientist and Vice President of Engineering. He has also held positions Network Computer Inc and Liberate Technologies, a spin-off of Oracle Corporation, developing thin-client solutions.

David holds more than 100 patents in areas across web browser technologies, mobile device management, network switching and protocols to distributed storage systems. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science at Brigham Young University and serves on boards for several organizations and startup companies.
